October in Santa Clarita has meant one very special thing to many of us growing up for generations. That, was the honored tradition of visiting Lombardi Ranch, picking pumpkins, navigating Scarecrow ally, and snacking on local baked goods. But, due to the many years of drought, they, unfortunately, have shut their doors for business, resulting in a huge heartbreak and hole in our communities fall activities. But, fear not! A new fall festival has sprung to life and bringing pumpkins and family fun to our Halloween loving hearts. Meet Gilchrist Farm.
A family farm, opened in 2009, offers for you to slow down and enjoy ranch life. With a wide variety of activities throughout the year including learning how to milk the goats, gather eggs, or take a horseback riding lesson. This year all through the month of October they will be hosting the first Harvest Festival and Pumpkin patch. Located in Santa Clarita up Bouquet Canyon Road. Weekdays join in the Pumpkin Patch and enjoy the Straw Bale Maze, Petting Zoo, and Farm Store. Each Weekend they have a fun-filled line up of activities and vendors, including Horse Drawn Wagon Rides, Pony Rides, Face Painting, Pumpkin Decorating, Fall Farm Crafts, Live Entertainment, Fundraiser Bake Sale (every weekend), Caramel Apples, Kettle Corn, Festival Food, Petting Zoo, and FREE Goat Milking Demonstrations each Saturday and Sunday at 9AM. No charge for admission or parking. Photographer on site for mini sessions in the Pumpkin Patch!
This weekend Jeff Fleck & Don Cunningham will perform live at the Gilchrist Farm Harvest Festival-Saturday 2:30-5:30 and Sunday 10:30-1:30!
Also this weekend: Center Stage Dance Studio will be performing on Saturday at 10 AM, Dance Studio 84 on Sunday at 2:00 PM!!
