Fun Friday: My Hot Pot

BUR! IT’s cold out there! There must be some… just kidding. It is yet another chilly day in Santa Clarita, and what better way to warm up than checking out the new eaterie in town. My Hot Pot.

First, if you don’t know what Hot Pot is (we sure didn’t), refers to Hot Pot (also known as steamboat) refers to several East Asian varieties of stew, consisting of a simmering metal pot of stock at the center of the dining table. While the hot pot is kept simmering, ingredients are placed into the pot and are cooked at the table. Typical hot pot dishes include thinly sliced meat, leafy vegetables, mushrooms, wontons, egg dumplings, tofu, and seafood. The cooked food is usually eaten with a dipping sauce. Hot pot meals are usually eaten in the winter during supper time.

We recently visited My Hot Pot and were very impressed. The interior has a fresh modern feel, with cool tones that are cozy and inviting. The perfect setting for this meal. The Menu offers a variety of choices of Hot Pot as well as some small appetizers. They also have a variety of refreshments from green tea, to soju. We got the peach soju, and let me tell you it was delicious! During out meal, we decided to try the popcorn chicken, which was crisp and flavorful. For our Hot Pot, we decided on the Meat Lover and the Tom Yum (Pictured Below) and went with the recommended sauce choices. Let me tell you, both were great! Full of flavor, and left us satisfied. We really could not recommend this place enough to those who are looking to try something new.
