Mickalson Group: Robert Mickalson

Today, we start a new series focusing on getting to know our team on a personal level. As much as we like to think of ourselves as home Buying and Selling Machines, we are also real people with real lives. Starting off our series we are going to be getting to know the leader of our group, Robert Mickalson, a little bit better. Check out his interview below:

How long have you been in Real Estate?
Since 2001. I was in the property management business since 1998, and decided to take a step up and become my own boss in real estate sales. I switched to real estate sales full-time in 2004. All in all…. 15 years in the business, and I couldn’t be happier.
What made you decide to get into this business?
It’s been a family business since the early 90’s, and I’ve always wanted to help people with one of their most important decisions in life, which is where they live. Helping people not only find a home to live, thrive, and build memories in…. but to also enable them to make well informed decisions in what amounts to usually the largest purchase they’ll ever make, is very rewarding.
What advantages do clients have, by choosing you, or your team to work with?
Our goal is to educate our clients about how to best reach their goals in real estate, and in doing so, we will make them wildly successful when setting out to sell their home for the most money or to find the right deal that exceeds their expectations when buying. When we empower our clients with in-depth information and relevant market information, it’s a win win for all involved.
What is your favorite part of this job?
Handing the keys over to first-time homebuyers, and enabling a family to make a move into a larger home when they didn’t think there was a way to make that happen, usually due to budget constraints. The Mickalson Group’s job is to make things happen for our clients, and if there’s a way to make a purchase or sale happen, we’re going to explore those opportunities for our clients.
What is your least favorite part of this job?
We love our clients so much, and work so hard for them, that I usually forget to eat lunch. I’m trying to get better at staying fueled up for all the fun real estate brings to the table day in and day out.
You’ve recently grown your team, and are continuing to grow, what goals do you have for the future?
We will continue to grow so that we can help more clients buy and sell homes in the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas than any other team out there. We believe our commitment to clients and attitude of educating our clients is something every buyer and seller can benefit from. Since we believe we’re providing a fantastic service to our clients, we won’t stop growing until there are no more homes to sell or buy. That may take a while – so grow and serve our clients we will!
Do you have a favorite memory in real estate? Whether it be a specific client, a transaction, or in general?
To be honest, there isn’t one specific memory that I keep going back to… but what I do look back on and think so fondly of is all of the relationships I’ve built over the years. So many clients have become good friends. These are people I can rely on, and they in-turn also rely on me to be there for them. I couldn’t ask for anything better than that.
