Not In A Rush To See Your Santa Clarita Dream Home?

Santa Clarita dream home and home search
What’s Your Urgency When Santa Clarita Home Shopping? Looking For Your Dream home? Or Just A Home?

The urgency any buyer has, no matter what they’re buying, will dictate how fast they act and move. Santa Clarita homes and real estate is no different. This post should be called: Are you really looking for your dream home, or just a place to live?

What I find confusing is when I receive mixed signals from a Santa Clarita home buyer who acts very serious about their home search and puts all the wheels in motion so to speak to buy, but then… when the right home comes available, everything else in their schedule is a priority. While this may be more of a rant from just another real estate agent, it might be a useful question to pose to yourself when it comes time for your own Santa Clarita home search.

Will you…

A) Look with urgency and make your home search a priority?

or

B) Look without urgency, and jump in and out of your home search like a swimming pool?

It doesn’t matter which buyer you are. I love all of you! But, you should have a plan to be one or the other. It helps to not only have a plan, but it also helps your agent to know that they shouldn’t sound the proverbial alarm to every listing hitting the market for you that slightly resembles your criteria. That would get annoying for you (texts, emails, VM’s, videos, calls).

If you fall into the B option above… you need to go into your home search knowing that while you may see a listing cross your phone or computer screen and you may think to yourself, “yeah, I’ll make a point of seeing that next weekend…” just know that home may not be available days before that weekend ever hits. Homes sell. Sometimes fast. Sometimes they don’t, though. Obvious, right?

Have a game plan for your Santa Clarita home search. Make your agent aware of your game plan with respect to your urgency to buy (tomorrow, in 3 weeks, in 6 months, etc). When you’re not surprised by anything, such as your dream home already sold because you took 10 days to get around to viewing it… then there won’t be any disappointment.

If you fall into option A above…. you’re home search is the priority in your life. You’re leaving work early, you’re taking days off, you’re turning off the Sunday football in order to find that dream home of yours. You’re the first buyer to see a new listing, and often the first to make an offer.

Which buyer will you be when you’re ready to find a home? Will it be your dream home? Or are you just looking to buy a home to live in, and you’ll get to it when you get to it?
