Santa Clarita Real Estate Market After Fed Leaves Rates Unchanged – September 2015

Santa Clarita real estate housing market news
Low rates will continue as Fed decides not to increase interest rates – great news for Santa Clarita real estate!

The Santa Clarita real estate market received some good news today after the Federal Reserve left the Fed Funds Rate unchanged. A continuation of historically low mortgage interest rates is likely until the Fed decides to hike rates for the first time since 2006. Low mortgage rates are in high demand and have helped the national and local Santa Clarita real estate market. Buyer demand has driven prices back up toward their pre-market crash highs, although we’re not at those price levels yet. The Fed meets a few more times in 2015, and can still hike rates… but it appears their less than optimistic global economy outlook may keep rates at bay for a while. Until then… Santa Clarita homebuyers should take advantage of these low rates lenders are offering, and homeowners considering a refinance out of a higher rate should do so prior to any increase in interest rates caused by the federal reserve. Rates aren’t at their extreme lows we saw in 2013/2014… but they’re still in the upper 3% and low 4% range for most borrowers – depending on loan program and your credit.
