Buying A Santa Clarita Home Without Seeing It?

What Drives This Santa Clarita Realtor Nuts?

JUST DON’T! Ok, so now you know how I feel about it. It’s happening out there though. Home buyers are actually making offers on Santa Clarita homes without seeing them first.

Why?

The most common reason is because it’s a seller’s market! Buyers of homes for sale in Santa Clarita are simply doing what they can to lock a home down, get it under contract, and hope that they actually like it once they do their home inspection.

I Can’t Stand This Method!

When I represent a seller, and I find out a buyer is making an offer on the home and they haven’t even seen it yet… to the bottom of the file it goes! Sure the seller will know about the offer, but my advice to the seller is to hold short of any acceptance of said offer until buyer has set-foot in the home! By accepting such an offer often wastes time and money!

Desperation

Buyers in Santa Clarita have been desperate though. You can’t really blame them for pulling out the old offer-without-seeing-it-yet technique. With fewer than 600 homes for sale throughout the entire Santa Clarita Valley, that’s just not enough homes to satisfy all buyer demand… especially in the sub $400,000 price ranges.

Buyers will continue to do what they need to do to secure homes under contract before prices and or interest rates rise further than they already have. I just hope that you never have to turn to such measures as writing an offer on a Santa Clarita home without first seeing it. #facepalm
