The official first day of summer is just around the corner on Monday, June 20th, but for most of us the summer has begun. With school getting out and the temperatures heating up, this week’s Fun Friday shines light on the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center.
Located at 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway, the Santa Clarita Aquatics center has something fun for everyone. Recently voted one of the Six Best Public Pools in Los Angeles by LAist.com. The center features three pools, including a 50 meter competition pool with a competition timing system, a 25 meter dive pool, and an activity pool complete with water play equipment and a 160 foot water slide! It also has concession facilities with snacks for the kids and locker/ changing room facility. There is a spacious deck to relax on while the kids play, or after a few laps in the pool, as well as ample parking.
What also makes this place great is many of the events that take place here. Starting in the winter with their “Polar Bear Swim” which allows participants of all ages to welcome in the New Year on January 1st with a brief and chilly swim. Participants are encouraged to bring a non perishable food donation which supports the local Santa Clarita Food Pantry. Fast forward to summer and you will find the “Battle of the Pools” lifeguard competition as well as the California Junior Olympics Swim Meet. When special events aren’t taking place there are a wide variety of activities and classes from swim lessons, zumba, to free play for every age group.
Sounds pretty great right? But why would you go here, instead of our local Hurricane Harbor. Simply, the prices. They really can’t be beat. The Santa Clarita Aquatics Center has membership cards, or daily passes depending on your needs. Check out their prices below:
