West of the 5 freeway you may know of the Stevenson Ranch, Westridge, and Castaic housing communities, but did you know there’s a sleepy little area with a country vibe called Val Verde? The small community tucked behind the hills of Castaic offers housing of all kinds, including cute custom pre WWII era homes built in the late 1920’s and 1930’s. There’s much newer housing too, like brand new! But the great perk of buying a home in Val Verde for many cash crunched home buyers is that the housing prices have not caught up with the majority of the Santa Clarita Valley housing prices in general. The majority of homes majority of homes sold in Val Verde in 2018 were priced in the 300k and 400k price ranges. There aren’t any condos located in Val Verde. They are mostly single family homes.
If you’re looking for a more affordable housing opportunity in the Santa Clarita Valley, in an area that is up and coming with a lot of development moving in that direction such as the Net Zero community, then Val Verde might be a future place to call home for you.
With inventory starting to rise here in 2018, and I expect for 2019, too…. you may want to take a look at what homes are for sale – right now – in Val Verde.
