MoneyGeek Ranks Santa Clarita 13th Safest City In America

MoneyGeek ranked City of Santa Clarita 13th safest city in America for 2020.

In the 2020 study done by MoneyGeek.com, Santa Clarita was ranked the 13th safest city in the United States. This was a list of 303 cities with a population of 100,000 or more. They analyzed the cost of crime per capita, and found that the cost of crime in Santa Clarita was $315. Compare that to St Louis, MO which was ranked last at 303rd, and had a cost of crime per capita of $9,334. Higher crime areas often times have depressed home values, and pay higher prices for crucial needs including home, renters and auto insurance.

Only three other CA cities ranked higher than Santa Clarita on this list of 303 US cities – Thousand Oaks, Irvine and Simi Valley.
