Santa Clarita Homes For Sale Inventory Inching Upward

Santa Clarita Homes For Sale Space

For the longest time, we’ve been stuck around 580-600 or so homes for sale here in the Santa Clarita Valley real estate market. It’s good news for buyers to know that we’ve had an increase of about 5% in Santa Clarita homes for sale inventory recently. Today, we’re sitting at 632 homes for sale. That’s not how many homes are for sale… it’s how many homes are actively for sale and looking for a buyer still.

More Homes More Choices Less Competition

As a home buyer in Santa Clarita, you want more choices and less competition from other home buyers. More choices also means prices move up slower, or not at all in some cases. The inventory is still too small, however, for there to be no appreciation. We’ll continue to see home values increase in the Santa Clarita Valley until we see a much larger inventory number than 632 homes for sale – or – until we see much higher interest rates.

Are you on the fence?

You shouldn’t be. Renting a home is just as expensive these days as owning a home, especially when tax advantages to owning a home are taken into consideration. Check out this calculator from Trulia!

We’re in the busy homebuying season when it comes to Santa Clarita real estate. Let’s see how the inventory shapes up over the next two months. Check out my outlook that I posted to my Santa Clarita Real Estate Insider April 2014 Newsletter.
